Improvements to the drying infrastructure

39 drying greenhouses

Have been implemented, laying a solid foundation for improving coffee quality in the region.

Since 2022, in the municipality of Caldas, we have been working to address one of the biggest challenges in coffee production: drying. Together with Siruma Coffee, Falcon Coffees, and the Manizales and Alto Occidente Coffee Growers’ Cooperatives, we have supported this process on farms in Montebonito and San Lorenzo, areas with great potential for specialty coffees.

As part of the project, tunnel-style drying sheds made of durable materials were installed, designed to achieve more uniform and controlled drying. Thanks to this, coffee quality has improved, moisture-related issues have been reduced, and marketing rejections have decreased.

By 2025, the project has successfully implemented 39 shelters, establishing a solid foundation for improving coffee quality in the region. In addition to the infrastructure, we have provided technical support and customized training to producers to improve their use of these tools and strengthen post-harvest processes. Through this, we seek not only to improve coffee quality but also to generate higher incomes and a better quality of life for coffee-growing families in the region.
